• If you are having issues with your eyes and you are aged 5 or over, then you can get help for your eyes for free using the North East London Minor Eye Conditions Service (NEL MECS).

• You do not need a referral for this, you can self-refer.

The service can assess and treat recent onset conditions such as:
– Red eye(s)

– Signifcant recent discharge from or watering from the eye

– Mild trauma, for example a scratch to the outer surface of the eye(s) or lid(s)

– Suspected foreign body in the eye (something stuck in the eye)

– Mild pain and/or discomfort in the eyes
